Event Terms & Waiver

Personal Information / Photo Rights

Upon registering for the Event, the participant acknowledges that Rare Cancers Australia and/or the event organisers may use any images and footage taken during the event (including photos or footage capturing you) for publicity and promotion of the Event in any and all media forms including, but not limited to television, radio, press, internet, posters, cards, flyers, pictures and videos, without your consent. You further acknowledge that in the event that a photo or footage containing images of you are used for the above purpose, you will not be entitled to any form of financial compensation from Rare Cancers Australia or the event organisers.

Participants acknowledge that all personal information provided during their registration for the Event is correct and true and the email address and phone number provided by you are the best way for Rare Caners Australia and the event organisers to communicate with you in relation to any important information about the Event.

Waiver and Release of Liability

In agreeing to participate in the Event, I agree as follows: I fully understand and acknowledge that the Event has (a) inherent risks, dangers, and hazards; (b) my participation in the Event may result in injury or illness including, but not limited to bodily injury, disease, strains, fractures, partial and/or total paralysis, death or other ailments that, could cause serious disability; (c) by my participation in the Event activities, I hereby assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages. I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend, and indemnify Rare Cancers Australia and all its Directors and members from any and all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise which may arise out of participation in the Event. I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging, and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future. I understand that I am responsible for informing Rare Cancers Australia or the Event organisers of any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that may affect my ability to participate in the Event.

Online Donations

Please note that all monies donated to Rare Cancers Australia Limited are used charitably at the discretion of the RCA Board of Directors. The wishes of donors are, wherever possible, taken into account by the Board when allocating available funds.

Refund Policy

Rare Cancers Australia Ltd will provide a refund in the following circumstances:

• On any RCA branded merchandise purchased at a hosted RCA event (Event), providing the item purchased is returned in its present condition within fourteen (14) days of purchase;
• On any RCA branded merchandise purchased at an event not hosted by RCA or from a registered 3rd party seller of RCA merchandise, providing the item purchased is returned to RCA in its present condition within fourteen (14) days of purchase;
• RCA Events
  • A confirmation letter and tax deductible receipt will be posted or emailed within 72 hours of receipt of payment.
  • Cancellations of tickets occurring less than seven (7) days prior to an event will incur a 10% administration fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to an event will forfeit full payment. Substitutes can be made at any time.

RCA will not provide a refund in the following circumstances:

• The monies received is by way of a donation, unless that donation is made in error and RCA is advised, in writing, within 24 hours of the error being made;
• The payment to RCA is made for any auction item, silent auction item or raffle ticket at an RCA run Event;
• All payments made at events not hosted by RCA, but where the proceeds are subsequently donated to RCA.

Currency

All transactions are in Australian Dollars (AUD$).
Transactions will appear on your credit card statement as Rare Cancers Aust Ltd Bowral.

Credit Card Fraud

Most banks and card issuers either cover all the charges that result from unauthorised use of your credit card, or may limit your liability to $50.00. In the unlikely event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

What follows is a list of terms and conditions for users setting up, managing and contributing to fundraising pages on this website.
