I am climbing for rare and this time its personal, I'll be climbing in memory of my dear friend, Frank Day who lost his life to brain cancer.
In March 2026, I'll be climbing with hundreds of others, in support of rare, and a dear friend who lost his life to a less common brain cancer over 30 years ago.
Frank’s diagnosis was a random lightning strike, he was so fit and well. I remember the panic as we all rallied together, trying to navigate the health system to work out second opinions, other treatment options, anything to help Frank and his family. It was a traumatic time and we felt alone.
Today and every day, Rare Cancers Australia provide individualised, person centred support and guidance via RCA’s team of specialist cancer navigators, ensuring patients, carers and their families are not alone. All funds raised through the Kosi Challenge go directly towards this brilliant work.
If you can, please donate so that patients and families confronting a rare cancer diagnosis are not alone as we were so many years ago.
