I am climbing for rare as a RARE Survivor of Cholangiocarcinoma
The Kosi Challenge is the single signature fundraiser for Rare Cancers Australia (RCA), with the sole purpose of raising awareness and much needed funds for people across Australia impacted by rare and less common cancers.
In March 2026, I'll be climbing with hundreds of others, in support of rare, in memory of and with those living with rare themself – together we are a community and Kosi unites us all!
All funds raised through the Kosi Challenge goes directly towards funding the individualised, 360 degree person centred support that RCA’s team of specialist cancer navigators provide for patients, carers and their families.

Rare and Raw
The Faces of RARE. I am getting REAL about RARE. I decided to be RAW and share the very….vulnerable side of my journey. If you have to look away...then imagine living this day in day out....
Imagine…sitting in life and sitting in death with only a 4% chance of surviving five years hanging over your heard…that is the reality that I have had to face every single day. I have cried, I have screamed, I have laughed, and I have been darn right scared…I have not had any family around me…so support has been essential from other places.
Rare Cancers Australia (my earth angels) have made such a difference to me on my personal cholangiocarcinoma journey, their trauma aware and hand holding (as you can see in the pictures with Arlie Novy) big hugs kind of care have won my heart and I know they have won the hearts of my fellow rare cancer friends too. I was so blessed to have them attend my book launch (a dream come true) two weeks ago.

What do you get for donating to this cause? helping save lives like my own…so that I can keep kicking goals such as writing another book, being a mum to my beloved puppy dog and me being a fierce advocate advocating for other cancer survivors especially those going through rare cancers and cholangiocarcinoma.
I will be walking in honour of all my cholangio brothers and sisters who are no longer with us and for those still enduring the treatment. It is going to be a very emotional trek for me…but I will crawl on my hands and knees if I have to. I will walk on this journey…
Here is a run-down of my treatments etc to date
I am a 53 month survivor of a rare cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma.
9 tumours (gallbladder, liver, bile duct and local and regional lymph nodes)
18 months of Chemotherapy
25 months of Immunotherapy
1 Bile duct stent
2 part liver resection
1 gallbladder removal
1 radical lymph node removal
1 appendix removal
and the rest....countless scans, months in hospital. I also live with another rare debilitating genetic disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
